Kumarakom, Kochi and Thekkady Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Welcome to God’s Own Country! Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport, our representative will receive and transfer you to the hotel in Cochin. Afternoon you can enjoy sightseeing with the following attraction:

Chinese Fishing Nets
Bearing witness to the entry of the Chinese into Kerala long ago, legends say these nets were a gift from the famous Chinese King Kublai Khan. Fishermen still use these traditional nets today, making Kochi one of the few places outside China where they are in operation. Popularly known as Cheenavala, the Chinese Fishing Nets are among the most iconic attractions of Kerala, located near Fort Kochi.

Mattancherry Palace
Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, is a Portuguese-built structure that now serves as a museum displaying artifacts of the Kochi royal family. The palace has four wings surrounding a central courtyard, which also houses a temple.

Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica
Located in Fort Kochi, this is one of the eight Basilicas in India. Known for its Gothic architecture and Portuguese interiors, it is the second cathedral built by the Portuguese and serves as the cathedral church of the Diocese of Kochi.

Points to remember:

Most sightseeing places in Cochin are closed on Fridays
Day 2
Off to Munnar in the morning. Today you can see the amazing sightseeing places as shown below:

Cheeyappara Waterfalls
Located on the Kochi–Madurai Highway (National Highway 49), Cheeyappara Falls is an on-the-way tourist attraction between Munnar and Kochi in Idukki district, Kerala. One of the largest waterfalls in the state, it cascades through seven tiers of rocks and offers a spectacular natural view. Surrounded by evergreen forests spread across acres, it’s also a great spot for trekking and nature exploration, with many exotic plants and animals in the nearby dense forest.

Valara Waterfalls
Situated between Adimali and Neriamangalam, Valara Waterfalls is a chain of waterfalls surrounded by lush green forests. Located about 42 km from Munnar, it is known for its scenic beauty, rich wildlife, and refreshing atmosphere. The gushing water and picturesque surroundings make it a perfect destination for nature lovers, photographers, and couples.

Eravikulam National Park
Located about a 45-minute drive from Munnar, Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary) is home to diverse flora and fauna. Wildlife includes elephants, Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri marten, lion-tailed macaque, small-clawed otter, and occasionally tigers or leopards. It is especially famous for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Eravikulam National Park was managed as a game reserve by the Kanan Devan Hills Produce Company before 1971. The control was taken over by the Karnataka Government in 1971, and it was declared a national park in 1978.

Points to remember:
Eravikulam National Park is closed in February and March
Tea Museum is closed on Mondays
Day 3
Breakfast at hotel. Today’s sightseeing includes the following places:

Munnar Tea Plantations
Perched at several feet above sea level with misty skies and lush green fields, the tea gardens of Munnar are a must-visit. Spread across vast acres, these plantations offer breathtaking views and a refreshing experience for every traveller.

Rose Garden Munnar
The Rose Garden of Munnar is spread over 2 acres and features a variety of plants, spices, and crops like cardamom and vanilla, along with fruit trees. Located near NH 49 about 2 km from the city centre at 3,500 feet above sea level, it is known for its vibrant flowers and scenic beauty.
Despite the name, it hosts a wide range of plants including litchi, strawberry, rambutan, amla, and seasonal vegetables. Visitors can also purchase seeds as souvenirs.

Tea Museum Munnar
Located in the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea, about 2 km from Munnar, this museum showcases tea-related antiquities, including a burial urn from the 2nd century AD. A documentary explains the history of tea in the region, followed by a factory visit to see tea processing.

Pothamedu View Point
Situated around 5 km from Munnar, this viewpoint offers panoramic views of tea, coffee, and cardamom plantations. It is a perfect spot to enjoy sunrise and sunset. On clear days, the distant Idukki Arch Dam (about 60 km away) can also be seen.
Day 4
Transfer to Thekkady. Today you can understand more about spices by visiting Green Park Spice Plantation.

Spice Plantation offers a chance to sync with nature. It provides a natural and peaceful atmosphere, enhancing fresh air and a relaxed mind. This eco-friendly plantation includes a farm, honey bee colony, natural fish aquarium, artificial paddy field, suspension bridge, cardamom processing unit, fruit plantations, and a greenhouse for vegetables.
Optional: Boat cruise on Periyar lake on direct payment basis. Evening you can watch Kalarippayattu and Kathakali (optional on direct payment basis). Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5
Leisure day. Kalarippayattu, Kathakali, Kalarippayattu and Kathakali (optional on direct payment basis)
Day 6
Proceed to Kumarakom in the morning. 2 PM – Check in at the hotel. Enjoy the facilities in the resort including 1 hour cruise on the lake in an open boat. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 7
Check out from the hotel and proceed to Cochin airport.
Drop at Cochin airport as per the flight timing.

Payments Terms

  • 50% advance payment required to confirm the booking
  • Balance amount to be settled 15 days prior to the arrival date

Important Notes

  • Date change of the tour in the cancellation period will attract cancellation charges
  • Special instruction: It is recommended to use sweaters/ jackets in the hill stations (Munnar/Thekkady/Vagamon Etc...) in winter period
  • There will be no refund for unutilized services.
  • Eravikulam national park might be closed in breeding season. In such situation we will add another place in Munnar in the itinerary. There will be no refund in such cases.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Rs 1000 per person cancellation fee for the cancellation made 30 days prior to the arrival date.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days prior to the arrival date: 50% cancellation charges of the total package cost.
  • Cancellation within 15 days of the arrival date: 100% cancellation charges of the total package cost.
  • 100% cancellation charges will be applicable for "Non refundable" bookings.
